March 2020 Meeting Minutes
Meeting minutes for 03/07/20
In attendance: Jeremy LaCrosse, Kari Daly, Jackie DeGiorgis, Marissa Carlson, Drew Davidson, Gabby West
Meeting started at 10:11am.
Community Collaborations -- No updates from Peter Glazer (as expected, it’s pretty early). KD has obtained a copy of the script from him. Jackie took the script to read.
Adams Space -- No updates; Jeremy will give Jay Green another push this month.
Firehouse Café/Staged Readings -- We had our first P&P on February 19th with The Foreigner. Cold night, but decent attendance by MCP folks and a couple friends of Adams Anthony Center. Everything went smoothly. Next P&P is The Importance of Being Earnest on March 19th. KD and Jeremy also donated paper products, plastic ware, etc. for P&P, as well as printed flyers and scripts (estimated donation: $70). Also, Jackie is donating the cost of the Adams Anthony Center donation, to cover utilities for our use of the space ($25).
Financial Update -- Gabby thinks we don’t need to file the 990 again until next year, as we filed and got reinstated so late this year.
PR Update -- Jackie and KD had a meeting/interview with Sharon Smullen, freelance reporter for The Berkshire Eagle where we discussed the history of MCP and P&P. Hopefully we’ll see some press about this soon. All other press is proceeding smoothly.
Growing Membership -- Still tabled.
Summer Cabaret -- Marissa and MJ have narrowed it down to 2 different weeks in the summer for cabaret camp (ones in which BART is available); will firm up dates as soon as she hears back from potential cabaret people. Theme is Food (and drink).
Community Collaborations (#2) -- Town Players of Pittsfield wants us to sublet a space from BCC this year from them (K111 or the Boland?). Jackie was contacted by Beverly Krol. Marissa suggested that we might bring Cabaret Camp there, depending on the dates. KD suggested maybe just one performance of Cabaret. Gabby will contact Beverly for more information re: dates, cost, expectations.
Fall Production -- Jackie suggested we might rent a church space (or somewhere) and put up a full production, since it’s been a while since we’ve done a full production and it would be good for publicity. Marissa thinks that All Saints might be available. We will start putting together ideas for the fall.
Drury High School, Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory -- Second week of April; many MCP people involved
Ghent Playhouse, Fun Home -- March 27-29, April 3-5
Dorset One Act Festival -- April 4th and 5th
Next meeting: April 4th.
Meeting adjourned at 10:49pm.
